By choice, Jaystride had taken up the rear of the patrol headed to the Gathering. It was a way of keeping tabs on everyone -- to try to make sure they were safe and that no one fell behind. With the recent battle, it'd be easy for one of the injured to over exert themselves, and he didn't want to lose anyone on the trip.

Unfortunately, he was the cat lost. Both his shoulders being out of commission and untreated had left a toll on him, and Jaystride found himself falling behind as his movements caused his shoulders to stab with fresh pain, the scabs breaking and leaking.

It was-- a lot, a sensation that burned through his veins and left him sinking toward the ground, a feat leaving him in further agony. He probably should have sought help from Rosepaw or Sundust sooner, but this was what pride had wrought.

He was very tired. he could just rest here, they'd be fine without him for the night.
