It seemed the minor injuries from the battle were finally coming to get treatment, as he expected. All the major ones had been handled by Rosepaw and Icicleripple while he prepared the den for any who may need to stay with the medicine cats while their injuries healed. It seemed his first patient would be Bushpaw. ”Oh, hello-“

Sundust’s greeting was cut off as the apprentice began sobbing, taking the medicine cat completely aback. “Oh, I- Um- Oh stars. You’ll be alright Bushpaw. We won the battle, yeah? Everything is ok.” Starclan above, he was not good at this. His pale peach eyes met Bushpaw’s. “Unless there’s something you want to talk about? You know, while I specialize in healing others physically, that is not exclusively what I do. If you want to talk through some things, I’m here to do so.” Sundust began examining the injuries as he spoke.

The scratches weren’t terrible, but it wouldn’t hurt to clean them out. The ones on Bushpaw’s chest likely needed some marigold. As the golden tom padded towards the herb storage, he kept an ear focused on Bushpaw, listening in case the young tom wanted to talk.

Bushpaw sniffled, face heated from embarrassment. It had been a couple minutes of trying to breathe while attempting to explain while he was crying. After regaining breath and mind, he finally explained his stupid situation. “I- I’m so sorry. I missed my sisters’ ceremonies and I was feeling really guilty and I really shouldn’t of done it here-“ He sighed as he looked to the golden cat as he grabbed some marigold. “Thank you for helping me, I know you’re su-posed to- but still.” He nodded and then stayed quiet, just allowing himself to talk if Sundust were to respond.
