I know it doesn’t make sense but hopefully you’ll understand Cinderstar, it’s been a while, Daisyfur thought

Cinderstar
The longer that Daisyfur continued to talk, the more confused Cinderstar became. It sounded jumbled, like it was missing quite a bit of information. There was no information given as to what had occurred with the Twolegs; had they taken her? Had they simply left her alone?

Flicking her ear to quell the distrust that rose within her, the leader studied her with thoughtful eyes. "You're right, it doesn't make any sense. And I don't like that you seem to be leaving out large parts of this story," she stated pointedly. Being blunt seemed like the best option here for this warrior to get her to understand how disappointed Cinderstar was with her.

However, this was the first time Daisyfur had gone missing, so for now the silver spotted leader would cast her stone to trust her. "I'll allow you to come back to ThunderClan this time. But if this happens again Daisyfur you'll be looking at a different outcome." She gave the warrior a measured glanced before nodding for her to follow her back to camp.

Let alone death. Too much mental preparation for the earlier, and although something told her he wasn’t leader any more just by looking at the warrior, the blow was… Well it still felt unexpected. Her maw opened, closed, opened and closed again. She wasn’t sure how to react to this… How to feel about it. She hadn’t been close to Buckstar or anything, it just… Felt strange. Her yellow green eyes lifted when his return as Buckbranch was announced, and some of the confusion dissipated along with.
“Oh.. Oh that-That’s good… Yeah. Um-- Congratulations, by the way. I don’t.. Know if it’s something cats say but- um-”

Her tail gave a twitch. Flamepaw’s eyes darted up and for a moment she daren’t move. To her one good ear, she felt the soft and, in this situation, almost comforting sensation of a touch. Was Cinderstar… Not angry? It was truly surprising. Hesitantly, Flamepaw lifted her head back up as she listened to the new (or rather new to her) leader.

The relief Flamepaw felt was almost visible when learning that fire had stayed far, far away from the clan. She let out a breath, listening carefully, not wanting interrupt. Although it took a few heartbeats, the apprentice finally allowed herself to sit as well – truthfully, it felt a bit awkward standing when the leader did it not. And.. She was perhaps a little tired, so sitting felt nice. Yeah. It did. She gave a slight nod, though her gaze dropped again.
“Well- I- I thought you were all dead, and it was, well, my fault, but… Yeah. I guess. Even when coming back I- I was scared that this would be, like, an ashland. Burned and.. Gone and-”
She shook her head.
“I- I’m just glad to see you’re all alive, and-and safe.”
At this point she couldn’t help but sniffle just a little. She half expected to find everyone gone, and otherwise to be yelled at and punished. Yet here she was, neither of those things true. It felt like such a wave of relief was beginning wash over her in face of Cinderstar’s comfort.
“Thank you – thank you for being so nice, like-- I though that you’d be, like, a lot more angry, if you were still here. But… But you’re not? You don’t.. Look angry, and, unalive and--
Does.. Does this mean I can.. come home..?”

She lifted her head to look up at Cinderstar, almost hopeful in her question. She so hoped she could.

[ Thank you! ]

Cinderstar
It was almost too easy for Cinderstar to relate to the emotions that the young she-cat must be feeling. Thinking that her Clan had gone up in flames. She recalled the same fluttering feeling, like a trapped butterfly trying to escape. Waiting at the border in the hopes of seeing her mother or father, and then having that hope burn like the ashes around her as they did not. It was a lot for any cat to process, let alone one still in their younger moons.

"I'm not angry, Flamepaw," she promised in a reassuring tone. Her gaze melted into warmth and acknowledgement of how different and perhaps frightening all of the change that had occurred must be. But Cinderstar was positive that once Flamepaw was reunited with her Clanmates and resumed her training that feeling would dwindle away.

Blinking at her next question, Cinderstar smiled. Perhaps some leaders were harsher in their judgement - quick to accuse returning Clanmates rather than approach each situation with a level-head and purely curious mindset. That was how she preferred it anyways - to hear her missing Clanmates out before passing any judgement. "Yes, you can come back to ThunderClan," she began with a nod. "However, we do have a Flampaw in the Clan already - you would need to change your name temporarily until you're made a warrior. Is there something you have in mind, or would you like me to select a new one at the next Clan meeting?"

[ Done! Go ahead and submit them to the Allegiances with their new name and they'll get added soon ]

Would she let him in now that she at least knew the truth?
He continued. “Last time you sent me away because I- because I lied. But now you have the truth.” He repositioned his leg, though it still felt uncomfortable. He then looked at his paws, to kept them steady.

Cinderstar
So... it was the same reasoning. Cinderstar had high hopes for the warrior, but the second he opened his mouth it was more of the same - except with the new information that his mother and father had been rogues. She could understand the pull of family - but having it pull beyond the vow that one made as a Clan didn't sit right with her.

Flicking her ear in discontent, the leader shook her head. "I sent you away because of the exact reasoning you just gave me, Dustclaw. You left to see if rogue life was for you. Now that you've discovered its not, you're back at ThunderClan's border." Disappointment was clearly written on her face as she sighed. "With everything the Clan has gone through in the last few moons, I cannot keep warriors in our walls who have their hearts pull them out that easily from the Clan. You left behind your Clanmates, the vow you made as a warrior..."

Part of her wondered if this was the right decision. But like always whenever she was faced with tough times, she recalled the former ThunderClan leader's words, whom she had met the night of her leadership dream. She recalled the dream her father had given her, of cinders falling from burnt trees. Resolute now in her reasoning, Cinderstar shook her head. "I'm sorry, but I cannot accept you back as a warrior of ThunderClan, Dustclaw." She gave a nod behind him, back towards the border of the outskirts that indicated he would have to leave ThunderClan territory.

[ So Dustclaw is being rejected, unfortunately - he gave Cinderstar the same reasoning as before which is why she sent him away in the first place ]

He didn't really have a good explanation as to why he had been gone. He just hoped that his explanation was good enough to get him back to his clan. He wanted to be with Softpaw, to learn to train the good way. He took a deep breath and focused on the path ahead.

He crossed over the border and started the trek back to camp. He wasn't sure of his path but something in his mind told him that he was going somewhat the right way.

@marni

Cinderstar
Sweeping her gaze across the territory, the silver bengal padded quickly past the brush and undergrowth, ears moved forward as her whiskers twitched. There was a certain scent she was tracking, one that held a faint trace of familiarity and yet was mysterious all the same. It had started at the border and was leading towards the direction of camp, so whoever it was she knew she would have to stop regardless.

Emerging from a swath of greenery, Cinderstar found that she was looking at an apprentice who had been missing for a couple moons. "Bluepaw," she called out to the young tom, hurrying her paw steps to catch up and intercept him. "Where have you been?" The last she had seen him had been a little over two moons ago if she recalled correctly.

Dimhazel blinked, grateful when their leader's voice wasn't scolding, it wasn't too long ago they'd returned from their first disappearance. Their gaze slid back down to the kit curled in their tail.
"Those are..... related..... sort of. If she has a name already, I don't know it.
I'd initially only gone to the edge of the territory to find some new things for my collection, but I lost track of the day, and it was almost nightfall when I thought to return home. But I stayed out overnight instead, not wanting to risk a trek in the dark. In the middle of the night I heard a kit's wailing and"
- they paused as the kit started hiccuping, a paw gently brushing across her cheek.
To be honest, on the journey home, names had been the furthest thing on their mind. Keeping her warm and safe and finding a milk substitute she could get down had preoccupied their thoughts entirely.
"I went to check, out of concern. I left the territory to follow the cries, and I found her in a ditch, seeking warmth from the bodies of her mother and siblings."
Dimhazel remembered finding the bodies, not a single wound or broken bone and the mother looked well fed. Only thing they could think of was she died of poisoning or the cold, and this one just happened to outlast her siblings.
They looked back at Cinderstar. They knew she was reasonable, she wouldn't tell them to get rid of a kit in need, but they couldn't help the pleading that bled into their voice and shone in their eyes.
"I couldn't leave her. I considered finding a kitty pet or two legs to take her in, but..... I didn't know where to look, and she needed help quickly. So I brought her with me."

Cinderstar
As much as they had been hoping that the excuse Dimhazel would give them would be a viable one, Cinderstar couldn't dispel the disappointment that lingered in her gaze. "You are a warrior who should know the territory like the back of your paw. Nightfall is no excuse to not return to camp for several days." Finding the kit was surely what had caused them to not return for awhile, but night time in the forest should not be something that made any warriors uncomfortable in ThunderClan.

Shifting her gaze down to the kit, Cinderstar sighed. She was young and very small, and though she wanted to ask what fate had befallen the mother and other kits, the silence was enough to convince her otherwise. It was always sad to hear the passing of ones family - thankfully this kit seemed too young to perhaps remember it.

There was also a surplus of queens back at camp, prey was running well, and ThunderClan - for the most part - was back on its feet with things running normally once more. Cinderstar couldn't find any reason to turn the kit away, so she lifted her gaze back up to Dimhazel.

"I'm going to be honest with you, Dimhazel. If not for the kit, I would not be allowing your return back to ThunderClan. While it is noble to follow the cries of a kit, in doing so you left behind your Clan, and an apprentice that was entrusted to you. That is not taken lightly." It would perhaps be awhile before she felt like she could trust them again with any sort of responsibility. For now, the leader would start with allowing them to care for this kit. "Follow me back to camp. I want you to find a queen in the nursery who can care for her. If you happen to think of a name as well, let me know so that we can get her properly introduced into the Clan." With that, she turned and began to head back towards camp, signaling with her tail for them to follow.

[ Done! Go ahead and submit the kit to the Allegiances and I will pull Dimhazel out of the missing ]

Sage'bush rambled back into the clan grounds and let out a sigh; She would have to explaine to her new leader, Cinderstar. "Cinderstar! I'm back!" her scratchy throat throbbed with the loss of water.

Cinderstar
Padding through the lush territory, Cinderstar perked her ears up at the sound of her name. Being downwind, she didn't catch any scent yet but veered off towards the sound of the voice. After a moment she discovered Goldenpaw, along with a few... scars? Curious, she regarded the apprentice with a masked expression. "Goldenpaw. I did not see you back in camp after the last time I found you. Where did you run off to?"

Cinderstar
Making her way through the territory the ThunderClan leader made a point of stopping every now and then to fully scent the air around them. Nothing seemed too out of place until a familiar smell danced under her nose and turned Cinverstar's head. Padding off in that direction, she soon came upon Sagebush. "Sagebush, where have you been in the last moon?" she questioned curiously.
