Ashenkit rolled onto her side, her sobs growing more choked and frantic. "Y-you're n-n-not s-su-supposed to know... S-s-shes g-g-gonna c-come b-ba-back a-a-and b-be s-so ma-mad..." Clinging to the queen like she was a lifeline, she whimpered softly. "Don't let her hit me... I-its scary and it hurts..." Covering her face again, she cast a glance at the nursery entrance. Mama would be back soon... So maybe Ashenkit should sleep. It hurt to do anything else right now, everything was sore.

Trusting that Maplefriend would protect her, she very shakily rested her head on the nest, trying to calm her trembling body and racing heart. She was going to be okay. For now. Until mama got home. Then no one would be okay.
