Fallownose bowed his head at the announcement of Bravebird's death. Even though he had been there when her body was brought into camp, it still sent a fresh jab of pain into his heart to be reminded of her fate. The dark gray tom couldn't help but blame himself for not trying to talk to Bravebird when something had been so obviously wrong. If he had reached out to her, would things be different now? But there was no point in wondering over "what ifs". The fiery young molly was dead, and nothing could be done.
Barkpaw's death caused the deputy to draw a sharp breath in. Another life was taken too soon, and he had only been an apprentice. Fallownose murmured a quiet prayer for both Bravebird and Barkpaw before lifting his head again to listen to the rest of Twilightstar's announcements. The first half was about her den being open, and he nodded in agreement with the part about being willing to listen.
"As Twilightstar said, I am always available to listen and help to the best of my abilities if you ever wish to speak to me." Hopefully, some cats would take him up on it. He'd like to know how the Clan he was eventually going to lead thought and get to know many on a more personal level.
The meeting moved on to a lighter note with the naming of new apprentices, and Fallownose cheered for them eagerly. "Patchpaw! Blossompaw! Fawnpaw!" It was always a joy when kits began training to become a warrior, and hopefully these three would make it all the way.
