The last part was kind of in jest, but she was also serious. She needed to be sure that they would know they are loved.

Squirrelear smiled, still looking over the kits, but he sent his sister a look and a roll of his eyes once she finished speaking. As if he wouldn't want to interact with them often! And not like he needed to be told.
"Hey, don't jinx it," he huffed, sitting up and swiping at his sister's ears playfully.
"And ya don't need to tell me: I would've done it whether you liked it or not."
