She cocked her head as another cat joined her. For some reason. But this one was a kit; Ferretkit!
"Hi, Ferretkit!" She shot back.
"Hm, yeah, this is my first meeting, so I don't really know what to expect but I sure am curious!" She was again unsure of how she should react, but it was easier with another kit than it was with a warrior. There was no time to say anything else as Pikestar spoke, and Lynxkit perked up to listen to the leader. And... yup! She had been right about the leader's name. She had been right, Snowkit had been wrong. That made her oddly happy for some reason.
But apparently, there were newcomers in the clan. Not something she knew stuff about, despite three of the five being kits and would have moved into her den. Then there were Sundrop (odd name but ok), and Branchlight, along with Goosekit, Sunsetkit, and Chirpkit. Oh, and Thorn, who was renamed Hawkpaw, and would be mentored by Pike-leader?! Lynxkit felt her jaw clunk onto the ground as her mouth fell wide open. WHAT?! Why? She looked around to check if anyone else was surprised by that. That wasn't fair...
She listened quietly to the rest of what Pike-leader had to say, that about Marigoldleap also joining (gosh, so many cats joining their clan), and helping Fawnpaw with herbs and stuff. But then another kit started talking, and it wasn't Snowkit this time. Lynxkit turned towards Heronkit, frowning at her danmate. She flew up on all four paws and her pelt puffed up somewhat and she shot a glare towards Heronkit, and was about to tell him to stuff it, but the last words made her hesitate a little. They didn't actually have a way of knowing what kind of intentions Marigoldleap had behind joining Riverclan... what if the cat
was here to hurt the clan. She shook her head. No. No, no, no, dumb thought, bad thought! Don't think like that!
"Na-ah!" She mewed at Heronkit, a defiant glare burning in her pale golden eyes.
"They aren't stinky, and they're gonna help us!" She paused for a heartbeat before puffing up her chest.
"Besides, Pike-leader..." oops, wrong name there
"Pikestar let them in, and he was a former loner, he knows this stuff!" She was addmidetly pretty proud of the point she had made.
Bet ya' didnt think of that, now did ya! She tried to press down the proud smile and plastered on as noble-looking of a face as she could possibly muster and looked at Heronkit.
"And you don't know better than the leader."
To super-prove herself, she turned and called out the names of all the cats like she heard her clanmates doing. There had been quite a few, so we've got...
"Branchlight, Sundrop, Chirpkit, Goosekit, Sunestkit, Hawkpaw," and last but least (actually, probably the opposite)
" and Marigoldleap!" Yup, that was all of them, she had remembered all of them, and she was awesome!
