Reedwhisker continued to listen to the meeting, there was bound to be more involved than just apprentice ceremonies. Of course, she always loved witnessing such occasions because apprentices were the future of the Clans, they'd be mentoring the kits who were in the nursery now. And then Pikestar had moved on to what seemed to be a reassignment. In this case, it was only one. Well, that was rare! And this reassignment involved Nightpaw, her temporary apprentice. Or- as the dark leader said,
permanent apprentice. Reedwhisker was finally getting an apprentice! Excitement filled the young warrior's belly as she stood up to greet Nightpaw.
I'll finish your training, Nightpaw. You'll become a great warrior one day.
"I will, Pikestar. I promise," she looked up at her leader and nodded firmly, casting a glance at her new apprentice.
The dark-furred leader began to speak once more, addressing the whole of RiverClan about expanding territory, but the problem with rogues was the only thing stopping Pikestar from giving the go-ahead. Perhaps she could ask more questions about where the territory would be expanded to after the meeting. Answers were better than just an explanation. And with no deputy to straighten out patrols, it would make it a bit more difficult. She'd talk to Pikestar about where they'd expand territory to later to appease her curiosity. As Pikestar said, he had a lot to attend to at the moment just like everyone else. She had to train Nightpaw.

But then the voice of Hollowstorm caught her ear.
Oh, dear, what is it now with him? the dark brown warrior looked toward the tom and listened. Well, at least he had some news, but it was useless to the Clan given all the losses they've faced recently.
"Hollowstorm, while the information you've provided is certainly... interesting, Pikestar is handling too much right now with a murderer on the loose who is targeting our own. Not to mention, he has two apprentices. The rest of the Clan is also busy and is more focused on securing the Clan's future than battling rogues who we can't be certain are behind all the death. And Pikestar will deem it too risky to send someone over like a spy, so don't even think about suggesting that," she growled. "If you do want to help, I suggest you reinforce all the dens to make sure rogues can't get in without having to go through the rest of RiverClan."
With that, Reedwhisker walked over to Nightpaw, "Get some rest, I'll get you when it is time to train. Sleep well." She then padded toward the fresh-kill pile and went inside the elder's den to see if the elders would be hungry. If not, she'd go to the nursery to attend to the kits and queens.

Littlepaw was happy for her friend. She had gotten a new mentor, which meant that the former mentor wasn't doing their job properly or not at all.
Well, at least she got a new mentor. Littlepaw then padded to the apprentices' den and sat down just outside of it.

Hawkpaw was rather pleased with how the rest of the meeting went. Nightpaw, a victim he's kept quiet about his secret, got a new mentor, but nothing else was interesting. Just some stuff about the rogue attacks which he was behind. The tom didn't feel the need to stay longer than he had to, so he decided to leave the meeting and go into the apprentices' den.
