Snowypaw
Unable to help himself, Snowypaw flashed Scalepaw a small, sympathetic smile. The large apprentice did not agree with his companion. He truly did not believe Scalepaw to be at fault of anything here. Snowypaw did not know what had led to the gray apprentice's disappearance from the camp in the first place, but he doubted the tom had done anything to deserve being attacked by a monster. Even without the memories of who he was, Scalepaw came across as a perfectly kind, respectful apprentice. Not the type to go gallivanting across the moors without aim or purpose.
Insecurity flitted on his companion's face, the trembling - while more subdued - not fully halted. Giving Scalepaw a friendly, reassuring lick between the ears, the large tom lay down again. Perhaps if he presented a calm front himself, it would help Scalepaw find comfort once more.
"You are not at fault," Snowypaw reassured his denmate, looking at him in earnest.
"Twilightstar or Fallownose would have told you if it was. They took you back into the clan because it wasn't."
The gentle giant allowed a moment of silence to pass between them, letting the words sink in. He knew far too well what it was like, to carry the burden of fault, the guilt of knowing no matter what you did, you deserved every foul thing that happened to you. He also refused to believe that Scalepaw was right in this matter. A tom who had somehow found his way back home after whatever horror had happened to him - ripping his memory away - could simply not be at fault. Not when they were trying so hard to make everything right like Scalepaw was.
"Perhaps..." Snowypaw began softly, his whiskers twitching lightly in thought.
"Perhaps instead of trying to remember, you can simply try to relearn. Your heart seems to belong to WindClan. It guided you back home. Maybe that's enough? You could always just start fresh. Let the memories come back when you are ready for them."
