Snowypaw
Following Stonecrackle's gaze, the large apprentice closed in on the tracks. Before he even begun lowering his nose to the ground, the scent of rabbit hit him with ease. The track was fairly fresh, and oddly smelled of only one rabbit. Must have been a younger buck who strayed too far from his burrow. Mismatched ears flattened as he realized they would have to continue carefully if they intended to catch their prey. Hares were easier. Kept to the open and ran quickly to get away, but did not hide under tunnels that were too small for the overgrown tom. Rabbits on the other hand rarely went far from their homes, preferring to be able to quickly duck back into the safety of their nests. This technique was ineffective with smaller built cats, but for him it would mean giving up on that meal.
Turning to look back at Stonecrackle, the apprentice spoke plainly, his tone still lacking in emotion despite his quick finding.
"Rabbit," he mewed softly in barely a whisper, not daring speak much louder in case the burrow was close by. Unsure if he was meant to follow the trail or wait further instruction, Snowypaw tilted his head as he awaited Stonecrackle's command.
"Shall I follow?" he added with a hint of hesitation. He did not want to appear rude or as if he were giving Stonecrackle any sort of orders, but it was hard to squash down the instinct to show initiative that Deadmoon had slowly fostered in him.
