Snowypaw
The mostly white apprentice cocked his head to the side in confusion at Stonecrackle's decision to give him a head start. For a moment he wondered if the warrior had such little faith in his abilities that he thought a head start was needed to give him at least a passable chance at winning. Snowypaw could honestly not fault the tom for thinking so if that was indeed the case, as he was certain that not even the head start would give him any sort of benefit. At a glance, however, it simply did not seem like the massive warrior had meant anything bad with this. If anything, it just seemed like he was being a legitimately good sport.
He would probably have offered the same to any apprentice. He is
a full fledged warrior, after all.
The realization hitting Snowypaw, the apprentice offered a small smile of gratitude before bounding off. He honestly doubted it would do him any good, but it would be rude to waste time and not take the advantage that had been offered to him. Once he had reached a far away enough point from the training moor, Snowypaw stopped, taking a good whiff of the breeze around him. Surprisingly, all the scents he could pick up seemed rather stale. Hoping he had not simply gotten lucky with the rabbit from before, he proceeded at a careful, brisk - or as brisk as he could make it without trampling his paws all over the ground - pace, mindfully keeping downwind as he remained vigilant for any wandering prey or more recent trails to follow.
