~ TULIPPAW OF WINDCLAN ~
Tulippaw was focused on Twilightstar, waiting for whatever news there was, but a mew caught her attention. It was Scalepaw, and he was... asking who the most important cats in the Clan were? The beautiful calico turned abruptly. Scalepaw wasn't an Outsider; he'd been born and raised in WindClan. How did he not know who the high ranks were? Tulippaw couldn't let this go. She rose to her paws and padded over to the light-gray-and-black tom.
"How could you possibly not know who the high ranks are?" she hissed under her breath. Tulippaw wasn't trying to be rude; she was just shocked. She was also aware of Twilightstar being right there, and despite Scalepaw being a featherbrain, she had a feeling that Twilightstar would blame her for being rude or something completely unfair like that.
Why is the whole world against me? she wondered, and cleared her throat, making her voice as honey-sweet as possible.
"I apologize if I sounded a little rude; I was just surprised. After all, you're Clanborn, and the high ranks have been around your entire life," she meowed sweetly.
"Twilightstar is the lilac-gray she-cat with all the scars. She's our leader and sitting on top of the Breezerock. Fallownose is the deputy - he's a dark gray tom with a white underbelly and paws. You'll know him when you see him. And Cowpaw is a massive white tom with black splotches. He's our medicine cat despite having an apprentice name. He should be getting his full name soon, though." Tulippaw drew back, sat down, and looked up at Twilightstar once more.
Scalepaw must be the biggest hare-brain in the world! What did she have to announce?
So, a couple of Clanmates had returned. Interesting that Twilightstar bothered to announce them; if she announced returning Clanmates all the time, that would take up half of every meeting. Were they really important? Tulippaw felt a flicker of disappointment at the mention of Coldsong. Who in the name of StarClan was that? Some cats were glancing around, and eventually, she found out who he was. He was a tall, white-furred tom who was heavily scarred and missing his tail. Other than all the scars - Tulippaw felt a roiling in her stomach as she imagined receiving those herself - and picked up the other announcement, which marked the return of... Wolffang?
Wolffang had died. Tulippaw remembered that announcement. He had been killed by dogs. But he'd come back. The white, orange, and black she-cat remembered hearing something about a cat named Crowtooth, who had been killed during the battle for the Sky Glade and returned soon after. But it had been moons since Wolffang's demise. Had StarClan been unable to decide whether to return him or not? Or had it just taken them time to send him back? The afterlife was interesting, but Tulippaw knew how important StarClan was, and part of her was jealous that Wolffang had gotten that opportunity. Wouldn't it be so dramatic if
she died and StarClan brought
her back? They'd have to; she was too perfect and good-moraled to stay dead.
I would be so special! But Tulippaw didn't want to die. The thought made her pelt crawl.
I'll find plenty of other ways to be special, she assured herself.
