The strike unbalanced the small white would be warrior who gave a startled mew, but he was quick to recover. Beetleblaze watched carefully as his apprentice launched a strike at her chest going for her center mass. As soon as he moved to go on the offensive the tall tan warrior sprung into action, trying to take advantage of their two on 1 predicament. Time seemed to compress as his instincts told Beetleblaze Floatingleaf wasn't merely avoiding Cloverpaw's attack by moving to the side. Moments after, the tom had to dig his claws hard into the dirt to avoid colliding with his partner as she leapt over his apprentice landing in front of Beetleblaze.

He watched as she swept his young wards feet from under him. That was close. He thought rapidly as he breathed a sigh of relief that the two warriors had not interfered with one another. His green eyes twitched slightly as Beetleblaze endured some empathy for his apprentice. Floatingleaf had seemingly gotten a bit over excited and gone above what the training session called for. He felt momentarily better when she acknowledged her over eager nature, but Cloverpaw did not appear to accept her apology. As his mentor the tan tom felt compelled to diffuse the situation, before any more hurtful words were said.

He looked down at his apprentices dirtied white pelt speaking firmly, but not devoid of sympathy. "I understand why you are upset, but in battle the situation may change at a moments notice. It is important to deal with new problems calmly, so let it go. Exposure to bad, or unfair fights means you will be all the more ready to face one in actual combat and control your emotions." Beetleblaze wanted to reach out and lick the dirt from his coat, but he knew the gesture probably wouldn't be well received. More likely such an act would simply be seen as insulting to his pride. The tom would never purposefully humiliate him in such a way if he could help it.

He looked back at Floatingleaf who seemed to have already moved on and was calling out to Flickerpaw to see if she was ready for her turn. Once the nervous confirmation left her lips Beetleblaze gave a nod to Cloverpaw hoping he understood, before heading over to his peers side and taking a stance. He readied himself for Flickerpaw's charge.

Flickerpaw inhaled and finally, after a minute, began charging at the warrior. Flickerpaw knew he could easily beat her but she had too soft of a hard to even risk hurting him. So, as she was charging she tried to make sure she would not hurt him
