Re: RiverClan Clearing
PIKESTAR { @birdie / @oleander / @Poprock }
⸻⸻⸻⸻
It was another quiet, dreary day in RiverClan and the dark-furred tomcat sat in the mouth of his den, staring off into nothing while lost in his own awful thoughts. Yesterday, his clanmates had said goodbye to Silverpaw, or mayhaps it had been longer than that. For the entire past moon, time had felt fake to Pikestar. Days drifted on and on without anything really making sense, which made the oriental feel like he was simply drifting in the vast span of empty nothing. Suddenly, something tickled his throat, which sent him into an abrupt coughing fit. His body shuddered, making Pikestar groan irritably under his breath. The last thing the clan leader needed right now was to get sick. There was too much to do. RiverClan needed him. He needed to work harder.
Then, something caught the corner of Pikestar’s partial gaze, making him lift his head to see what it was. His one eye widened as the familiar form of Fawnpaw stood in the center of RiverClan’s camp. What? He blinked several times, convinced at first that it was just his mind playing cruel tricks on him. However, the young molly didn’t disappear. She was just standing there, smiling softly and looking around. Several of his clanmates were quick to go over to where the medicine cat was. Fogcloud, Goosehonk and even Featherflame. Surely that meant that she was real, right? And not just some terrible dream that was trying to make him simply believe that his little sister was here and alive. Fawnpaw was here. She was alive. She was okay. “Get up, you idiot.” His conscience hissed lowly at him and Pikestar jumped to his paws, nearly stumbling immediately. He smiled widely, finally accepting this truth.
“Fawnpaw!” The large oriental exclaimed, his heart pounding as he finally moved, racing from his den and over to her. Pikestar hardly even noticed his other clanmates there anymore, immediately capturing the young molly into a hug, wrapping his paws around her. “You’re back! You’re alive! I knew you were okay! I just knew it… I knew you would return to us…” His words tumbled frantically out of his mouth, as the thrilling sense of relief washed over Pikestar. His sister was alive, and home again. StarClan hadn’t taken her from him. Thank goodness, he thought, thank the stars. He felt tears of joy gather moments later, but he squeezed his single eye shut to keep them from falling. Stars above, he was probably making a scene, wasn't he? Totally.
