“Softsky! Embertalon! Softsky! Embertalon!” The only thing more uplifting than apprentice ceremonies was warrior ceremonies. He himself had been in their paws not long ago. It’s hard earned, the apprentice moons were tougher than just the training though the training in itself was tiring. When a warrior made it to this ceremony, they’d earned it.
Blackfir’s ears pricked though at the mention of kits. Unruly kits was indeed a problem. Someday Blackfir hoped to have his own kits sharing that nursery and some of the tales and issues he’d heard filtering from that den put him on edge. He could swear all he wanted that it wouldn’t be his kits, not with whatever queen he found himself, but truthfully he knew he couldn’t be sure.
Lessons. It made more sense than Blackfir had expected. Kits were naturally curious, that was what often led them into these dangerous and risky behaviors. He nodded and lifted his chin. Sparrowstar had mentioned queens and elders specifically but the chance to get some more paws on among the kits felt both a great way to prepare for his own as well as get acquainted with some of the upcoming apprentices that he may end up training some day.
”Sparrowstar, I’d be honored to help in any way I’m needed. I could teach the warrior code.” Clan etiquette, relations, and hunting he felt confident in. Flameheart had been quick to volunteer for hunting and really all warriors and even the queens and elders should have at least enough hunting prowess to teach kits. The clan history he felt he could manage but he was a young tom and had, admittedly, not spent as much time with the elders learning their stories as he should have and he knew next to nothing about herbs and medicine cat things. He managed not to get himself killed but that was mostly because he preferred to leave leafy things out of his mouth altogether unless instructed by a medicine cat. But he’d found a particular fondness for the warrior code through his apprenticeship and teaching it to kits felt like a way that he could get closer to both.
