Roosterflame let out a chirp of excitement and joy, and he picked up his pace. He broke into a run when he was less than five fox-lengths from the ThunderClan leader, despite the pain that spiked in his still-healing leg.
“Oh! Sparrowstar! You have no idea how glad I am to see you!” He exclaimed as the tag on his collar flipped up and slapped him in the chin, causing him to wince, “Ow.”
He was so glad to see that Sparrowstar was still leader of ThunderClan, he didn’t know what he would have done if he’d returned and the leader had changed again… actually, he probably would have gone back to the barn and never looked back.
“I got kidnapped, again,” He hissed, though he tried to keep his tone light, “I fell out of a branch while climbing and broke my leg. The twolegs who kidnapped me took me to a medicine twoleg,” He lowered his voice, “It was horrible… uh, anyway,” He shook away the heebie-jeebies, “I soon healed enough to slip out and come back here. I seem to have the worst luck with twolegs… I’m sorry.”
He looked dolefully at Sparrowstar, shame written across his features,
“I guess I’m a bit… reckless? Though, if it hadn’t been for those twolegs… I mightn’t have made it, so I guess it was… okay I got kidnapped this time? I don’t know. What I do know, though, is that I never want to get kidnapped again!”
He paused, taking a breath. He found he often rambled like a kitten in Sparrowstar’s presence,
“What I’m getting to, is, you’ll let me back, won’t you? I promise I won’t disappear again if I can help it.”
He then held his tongue, waiting on Sparrowstar’s response. The collar jangled, breaking the moment of silence.
