"Well, since you're small for now, you'll want to use that to your advantage. I want you to try darting towards my forepaws, low to the ground, and aim a swipe so that you drag your paw along the back of my forepaw and then dart away. If it was a real enemy, you'd seriously injure a muscle there and possibly prevent them from using their front paw at all," Vixensnarl explained as she stood, giving her pelt a quick shake.

"Go ahead and try, but remember to be fast because a larger cat could grapple you into submission if you don't get out of their reach quick enough."

As Vixensnarl stood up again Smolderingkit scrambled to follow suit, claws scraping the ground attentively. He drank in each word like it was a lifesource, like his whole warrior career depended on it. First he tried to picture how it would look in his mind; then he dropped low to the ground and darted forward. He threw out a paw when he neared Vixensnarl and swiped it across the back of her foreleg then jumped out of range as fast as his baby paws would allow.
