Sootfur turned his gaze abruptly away from her mate, toward Sparrowstar. The leader had just announced something... stunning.
"Me... a mentor?" He then glanced at Flameheart, as to confirm that he hadn't dreamt his name being called out loud by the Thunderclan leader. I've just become a warrior, and.. I already have an apprentice? It felt so unbelievable, but since everyone was staring at him waiting for him to spet up... It's true!

His former mentor congratulated briefly with him, and finally Sootfur regained consciousness on what was happening around him. "Thank you, Darkpetal." He replied a bit uncertain, but still happily.

The gray tabby then made his way among his clanmates and found his place in front of the crow. Quietkit, no, Quietpaw was waiting for him with an eager look.
Sootfur took a deep breath and puffed out his chest, hoping to get a good first impression for his first apprentice. Emotion swelled inside him, and he couldn't wait to meet the cat he would be training with for the next few moons.

"Hi, Quietpaw. I am Sootfur, and I'm glad to take you as my apprentice." His grey-blue eyes flicked for a moment to Sparrowstar's, who was staring at the two new apprentices greeting their mentors. I hope I'm doing this alright.
"I'll do my best to help you become the best warrior you can be." He promised solemnly, before craning his neck to touch noses with the quiet apprentice.
