Re: ThunderClan Clearing
Rabbitchatter | he/him
Long brown furred tabby tom with amber eyes
__
Rabbitchatter had finished up with with Alderheart, and at the moment had decided not to contemplate the whole morning of activities. That was probably best for later consideration, perhaps when he was less tired. The tom cat toddled into camp dragging his soggy tail behind him with bundles of soaked moss between his jaws. It hadn’t entirely occurred to him that replacing his nest with moss in the dead of winter would take longer than just going to fetch it. With a defeated huff the tom dropped the bundles onto dryer ground and used a paw to flip them open. Perhaps Sundust would be open to letting him leave some of the moss around to dry in their den, leaving some for the medicine cat and then taking the rest to repair his wrecked nest.
He hummed quietly under his breath in the midst of thought before scooping them back into its delicate piles and leaving it aside. He was frustrated because he was hungry, how silly of him to forget. A small smile worked its way onto his maw and at that he stood to scout out the fresh kill pile. Upon his first visual sweep it became apparent to him that… it was less fresh kill and more cold leftovers. The warrior pulled his lips taut over his teeth, chewing on the inside of his cheek and using a paw to move aside a frozen mouse to reveal a small thrust and probably a reaaaally old rabbit.
He weighed his options and settled on the rabbit. What could go poorly about it? Surely the cold would’ve preserved it a little bit, even if it wasn’t super fresh. Right? The warrior bent over the corpse and used a paw to try and dislodge it from its frozen home. The rabbit was likely warm when it was set down, therefore the ice froze around it once it cooled. Which was a lot more difficult to remove than he would’ve assumed. After a few moments (and an attempt to warm it with his own breath) Rabbit settled on hooking both paws under it and wrenching it with his best effort.
And as anybody could’ve guessed, that went just as well as a fish learning to climb trees. With one big heave Rabbitchatters grip over the rabbit slipped and he went sprawling backwards with the effort of his pull.
@Starfall
I know this is like a hundred years late ! So sorry !!
