He shuffled closer, nearing the edge of the apprentice den. He tried to peek in without causing a scene, but his eyes trembled around.
Why was he so nervous to converse with his own daughter? After all the majority of the apprentices at the meeting were strictly sent away into the apprentice den. He had caught a glimpse of Quietpaw who seemed to be mentally struggling. But he was quick to assist others because of his duties. Blatantly moving aside to hell with the situation as Quietpaw was moved away. Now this was the right time to check on her, ever since then Rainpaw had been especially protective of his sister. Which he liked as Rainpaw seemed more attached to his siblings than his own parents.
And he completely knew there was a reason for that. Their relationship has been swiveling from side to side. But he wouldn’t force a relationship to be stitched up when Rainpaw would receive his warrior name.
He would let him take the time. As he shuffled near the apprentice den, he wanted to check up on Quietpaw. He didn’t know if she would shoo him away, and portended the outcome of it. He felt guilty, he always felt guilty. His eyes looked over each cat, not wanting to cause any disturbances. He merely whispered calling for Quietpaws name.
"Quietpaw?" he rasped. Maybe a small walk would be able to forge something positive out of this. Even if Quietpaw may not be able to squeak out any words, her ears were better than most. After his call for his daughter, he waited. His paws stung a bit as they felt numb due to the cold. And also extremely dry. He overlooked his appearance as he always had groomed himself whenever he had the time, agh he was too mentally focused on other problems to even care a feather about his fur.
Fox-dung, He cursed internally. His bold blue eyes were still dim like fresh sea rocks.
