He was just sitting there aimlessly. As usual, the meeting was proceeding. On the woven-adorned branches without the deputy present. He saw as Sparrowstar summoned the youngsters to approach and face her. Acornkit, the diminutive creature, was also set to get a new name. Stars, if a cat had two identical names, he'd have problems as well. Maintaining a faint blue glimmer in his eyes as Flutterkit replaced Acornkit. He was then brought back to the occasion when Rainpaw's name was changed for his apprentice ceremony. That happened a very long time ago. Quailfur was nowhere to be seen, and he was suddenly alone among the crowd. However, he noticed a recognizable brown pelt exiting the clearing. Just witnessing this made him shiver.
Rainpaw left but where?
As he concentrated on the meeting, Sparrowstar's resonant voice pulled him back to the present. It was good to see a new warrior and apprentice. Actually quite good considering the current occurrences. He gave the two an adoring glance and flicked his tail. He didn't waste any time in chanting the two new ranks that had been added to their clan.
"Lotuspaw! Foxflurry!" For the two, his blue eyes glittered intensely. Moreover, he flicked his ear slightly in response to mentor reassignments. To reassign five fresh apprentices? Starclan's kits! These mentors aren't really doing their utmost to pass on their knowledge to Thunderclan's upcoming generations. Thankfully, he would never have to fight off his responsibilities as a mentor for Thunderclan with the help of Weaselpaw. All he needed to be in Thunderclan was his prowess as a warrior.
He noticed a strange hesitancy in Sparrowstar's voice when Sharpaw was mentioned. Oh no, he was familiar with that string of words. A cat so young was retiring at such a young age? How could a cat retire to the elder's den at such a young age in history? He saw Sharpaw, or Sharpeye as he was now known. He worriedly bit his lower lip. He gave Sharpeye his undivided attention as he dipped his head in his direction. Truthfully speaking, he would be far too stubborn to ever step his paws into being an elder until he had the courage to abandon his duty.
Then, as his gaze fixed on Sparrowstar, he let out a sigh. By two-legs of all things, Copperfire vanished. Two-legs were far too deadly, he grit his teeth. If they had desired it, they could have easily seized an entire clan. When his absent mind was in a state of turmoil, he flicked his tail in rage. He heard the sound of his name being called. Him? Deputy? No Sparrowstar must have made an error. Him to fill the position of deputy? His name reverberated in his ears, and everything seemed to be a dream. He could never hesitate when his body instructed him to move his legs forward. He advanced as a result of the singing of his name. His joy and a little bit of terror combined as his heart pounded against his chest. As Sparrowstar hopped down from the willow tree, he dipped in her direction. turning to face his clanmates and bowing profusely in thanks. Moreover, he expressed gratitude to his leader and Starclan for providing him with this position.
"Thank you, thank you all." His voice croaked.
After landing this job, he felt as though he would start crying. He would never ordinarily become so upset about such little matters. He identified one of his clanmates in the crowd by scanning each of their faces. Quietpaw, his daughter, was supporting him! But it appears that she failed to notice him at all. He was present for the entire crowd. Maybe they didn't even think to look for him in the crowd. His entire family had left the meeting, so they were unable to even recognize him or speak to him. Now, it felt pointless for him to be there. What good is it if his family won't even welcome him if they aren't here to support him? He already ended his connection with Rainpaw, and Quailfur hasn't had a relationship with Rainpaw since. Even if they had a typical chat, he is unaware of it. After all, he had already become fairly close to his sisters, and Quietpaw is the only sibling he has right now in Thunderclan. His efforts to be a good father had failed at that point since he felt bereaved and terrible for what he had done to his own son.
