Thank the stars tough love still worked on some cats. With a brief nod and a shaky breath, she took up a seat beside him in front of the nursery's opening. This- skies above. Quailfur appeared next, with an absolutely heart-wrenching cry as she collapsed onto Quietpaw beside Thrushfur. Then Oriolepaw, and her stomach rolled, remembering all the times she'd seen the bodies of the cats she'd cared about. It never got any easier.

Foxflurry next, with a question; Bumblebreak didn't think this was exactly the best time to be asking Rainpaw anything, not until things had settled down, but she couldn't bring herself to step in and cut Foxflurry off. It'd only be adding to the ongoing scene.

A shudder, nearly unnoticeable, wracked her body and she drove the heels of her paws into the grass and forced her gaze away. Now was not the time to lose herself to her thoughts, she had a freaking job to do and she was going to see it done, damn it.
