Out of the corner of his eye, Alderstep could see the kit resume his rumble and tumble. It was concerning. If he kept flopping about, he'd tumble right out of camp. A queen better show up soon before ThunderClan had a wailing kit on their paws. The warrior looked away, deciding that whatever the kit was doing no longer concerned him. Sure, he was an odd kit. He'd let his mother figure out the furball, though.

Except that wasn't a choice anymore, as the kit rolled right into him. Alderstep looked down at the kit, whose pelt was full of dirt. Eugh. He pushed the kit away from him (gently, though honestly, he'd have shoved the kit if not for his innate fear of angry queens), shifting back at the same time. And now he was purring! Alderstep flicked his tail irritatedly. "What?" he demanded. It was clear the kit had no business with the warrior, but perhaps asking would drive the furball away. It was the best logic Alderstep could produce, anyway.
