Sundust just about perished as the kit put the berry in her mouth - before he could react, however, Goldenpaw had lunged forward with the apparent aim of knocking it out of Acornkit’s mouth - hopefully it didn’t knock anything down her esophagus.

“Stars, Goldenpaw, get off of her!” Was he trying to kill this kit? “Out of my way-” the medicine cat shoved Goldenpaw to the side as he spoke, ”-if this kit swallows something I’m going to need space if you want me to save her life.” He glossed over the question of whether or not he knew how to cure deathberries; frankly, he didn’t. The best he could do was induce vomiting if necessary. “Acornkit, did you swallow any of that berry at all?”
