Luckily for her, Duckkit quickly ran to her, and she placed a soft gray paw over him as both a hug and a shield should he need it. The female rogue laughed and insulted her and her Clan, and Dovefluff's rare ShadowClan temper flared up, but the anger and bitterness that she felt in her chest never reached the surface, and she only forced out a small cock of her head.
"I'm sorry to hear that. I'd have to say that I disagree with you on that one, though." The gray molly decided to not even touch the comment about her being pregnant, because it honestly didn't have a drop of relevance.
She glanced over at the tall, dark tom and nodded in greeting.
"Thank you for keeping an eye on this little cutie." She smiled back. He seemed polite, but her main concern was Duckkit spouting off at the female rogue. He wailed, pressing against Dove's side, and she lightly stroked his back, to try and calm him.
"We are strong, darling, but some cats think that being strong means threatening and hurting cats. We're the good kind of strong, and I'm not sure she understands that yet."
The moment the other molly moved closer, Dovefluff's throat rumbled into a warning growl, claws ready to come out if she threatened this child.
"I don't need to insult you." She murmured softly, deciding not to point out why that was. This cat was obviously insecure, and she wasn't in the mood to hurt this cat more.
"I suggest that you not threaten me anymore, though. Me and Duckkit will be off now. I hope you both have a good day." Gracefully trying to shear away any hostile intentions the female rogue had, Dovefluff gently nudged Duckkit back to the forest.
Offering a polite nod to the tom, and not even another glance at the female, she tried to keep the kit in front of her, so that if this molly attacked, she would hit Dovefluff instead of the kit. Though hopefully it wouldn't come to that, because the queen didn't want her kits or this small kit to be harmed.
