Ashkit
He/Him, gray with dark gray points and molts
*.*.*
Ashkit’s small, mottled gray head was resting peacefully
on his paws. He was dreaming of a perfect world, no
clouds, stars and moon shining beautifully down on each
and every clan, blessing them with a wonderful peace that
in the real world could never truly exist. The kit, forgetting
the world he truly lived in, pranced around through the
shining green grass, good feelings surging through him, his
heart lifting. He felt like he was flying, soaring through the
world of wonder, nothing in his way. It was the best he’d ever
felt, in his dreams. Suddenly, the perfect world spun into
blackness, and when he opened his eyes, he wasn’t flying
anymore. He was laying down in the nursery, staring at the
brown head of Rabbitchatter, whispering through the nursery
entrance.
Ashkit didn’t need to shake away any sleep, the simple
sound of Frogkit’s excited yapping was enough to smack him
into reality.
Oh, come on! He thought, but he knew
even if he tried to dream again, it wouldn’t be the same.
And it would certainly never be the same in this real world.
The gray kit hoisted himself up, glancing around the nursery.
Well, a little trip out and some playing couldn’t hurt… but
I’ve never really tried it before. He tilted his head, and padded
over calmly to Rabbitchatter. What are the chances he would
literally ruin a game for everybody. Well… if it was a game- of
course it was! If this were real, he’d be hearing much louder
noises outside than just Frogkit.
Couldn’t hurt… I’m going! He told himself. He
quickened his pace, trailing after Rabbitchatter and Frogkit.
I just hope whoever Rabbitchatter and the rest of us are
about to… ‘beat,’ is alright with this…
