Thankfully, the apprentice had walked further into the den in time to see Cowtuft shake his head. Mothpaw's lips pulled into a smile, stumpy tail flicking behind him. Ah, good, he wasn't interrupting anything. He flicked an ear in greeting, stopping a few pawsteps away from where the medicine cat was laying in his nest. Mothpaw quietly mulled over his words, attempting to find the best way to say his thoughts in hopes to not accidentally bring discomfort to Cowtuft in any way. Although, hopefully his request in general would not lead to any discomfort. That would be less than ideal.

Finally choosing his words, the cream-colored feline spoke. "Ah, I'm glad I'm not disturbing you. I came seeking to give you a bit of company, is all. There has been a lot happening in the Clan and I believe some company is good every once in a while," he started, a polite smile painting his expression, "May I join you in your nest?"

He watched closely for any non-verbal cues Cowtuft may give, not wanting to misread a possible response.
Cowtuft looked at Mothpaw curiously, oh, what could ever be on his mind? He was half tempted to offer a flower for his thoughts but, unfortunately, he had no flowers. Leaf-bare had its own beauty but he was beginning to miss his flowers. At least it was starting to become warmer. Cowtuft watched as Mothpaw came closer and he only blinked up with wide eyes, his tongue beginning to peek out as a small blep. A greeting.

A smile spread across his face widely as Mothpaw offered company, asking to join him. Cowtuft did not even hesitate to roll over onto his stomach, scooting to the right side of his awfully large nest. He would grab his fragment of moonstone and precious feather, gently placing it outside of his nest. Not as if the gentle giant didn't trust Mothpaw with his trinkets - goodness, no, clearly this was a kind fella - he only wanted to avoid any discomfort in his nest with the two of them.

Cowtuft lift his feathery tail and pat the empty space next to him, letting out a chittering chirp that practically welcomed Mothpaw with happiness. He loved cuddles!! They were very nice, especially with his clanmates.
