Once the necessary herbs were brought to her, Fawnlight wasted no time in chewing one of the yellow flowers up that she recognized as yellow bells. The taste was near repulsive now though and almost had her gagging, but the former medicine cat managed to turn it into a rather well mixed poultice. With Briarkit's wounds clean, it would be good to plaster on.
But as she aimed a paw covered in it to the young kits belly, her paw shook heavily and made it nearly impossible to place it where it needed to go. Fawnlight retracted it a bit, brows furrowed in concentration.
"Silversnow," she called, stretching out her paw,
"take this. Smooth it gently - gently - onto Briarkit's belly and shoulders. Make sure all of it is covered." Gaze shifting to Briarkit she smiled lightly.
"That's right - a hero. I'm certain that the reason Stonepaw makes it out of this is because of you." Wherever the medicine cat was, Fawnlight hoped he wasn't injured. Or dead.
Looking to Lilycreek, she gestured towards the cobwebs.
"Start breaking those up - two separate piles of strands. We're going to need to cover her belly, and then her shoulders. Once Silversnow is done coating her belly, and her shoulders, work together to wrap them." Her paws were shaking still, though not as much as before. Her big belly made it near impossible to move around all that much but Fawnlight did her best to lean closer to Briarkit to distract her while Silversnow and Lilycreek worked.
"Can I tell you a story, miss Briarkit?" Hopefully the young kit would indulge her, despite the savagery that raged on outside. Her blue eyes sparked and a smile was spread across her face, silent prayers to the stars that the apprentice-aged kit would turn her focus to her story instead of the world around them.
"It's about a fearless she-cat, who did everything in her power to save her Clan."
