At their slightly raised tone, a small chuckle escaped the she-cat's lips and she gave a shrug. "Hey Dacepaw! Not too exciting of a day, I'm sure I've got training ahead of me still. How're the moors? Is prey running well I hope?" she inquired, blinking as she met Dacepaw's gaze. Since they had become apprentices, she hadn't seen much of her sibling as she had in the nursery. Both of them were busy with training or apprentice tasks, and Redpaw herself felt exghausted from it all at times. It's so much! Sometimes I wish I was still a kit she thought to herself, a smile crossing her face as she awaited Dacepaw's response.
Dacepaw listened eagerly to their sibling talk of their day, grinning happily at the other apprentice and then sitting beside them. Her two questions immediately got him talking as soon as he sat, "The moors seem to be pretty barren, but the forest seems to be starting to stir ever so slightly. Maybe today was just a good day of hunting. I didn't catch anything, which wasn't that fun. One of the warriors said I was talking too much, but if that was the case they wouldn't have caught anything either. Oh, and the prey is decent right now, considering the cold. But the warriors all caught something and one even caught two pieces of prey, which is why I got to carry something back." They paused and stared across the clearing, at the fresh-kill pile, "We caught a pretty wimpy squirrel, two mice, and a shrew. I carried the squirrel. I don't think the warriors wanted to claim that scrawny thing, there's hardly any meat on it at all." The drew off, realizing now how useless the entire ramble was, about the prey. Really, Dacepaw loved conversation and they could easily have one with themselves. It was almost sad, but they didn't mind. They liked to talk, that's all.
