The reek coming from the prey-pile caused the deputy to wrinkle his nose, and he padded over to see what had rotted. It was surprising that nine pieces of prey had rotted, leaving only one sparrow to feed the Clan. He would have to see about sending out emergency hunting patrols.
With a huff he pawed the prey out of camp, having to take two trips to get it all, and buried it so the scent wouldn't attract any predators.
