The camp had been awfully empty. And quiet. It was wonderful, if Fudge was to be honest. If anything, it should be like this more often. He had no idea why everyone had rushed off with their hackles raised and tensions running, but if it meant he got to nap completely uninterrupted in the camp clearing he would take it!
Of course, in a place with as many cats as this place had, the peace never lasted long. The chocolate colored tom had no idea when he had dozed off or how long he'd napped for, but Angry's voice clearly resounded through the clearing, waking him up with a start. Emerald hues opened in shock as Fudge registered what was going on, swiftly settling back to a deadpanned, emotionless mask as soon as he saw the clearing filling up with injured, bleeding cats. Curiosity peaked, Fudge restrained himself from tilting his head, not wanting to give away his interest. Instead, the young tom got up and padded towards the shadows, listening in to the milling felines as he tried to catch wind of what exactly had happened.
Truthfully, it was loud. Too loud. The buzzing and mumbling of all these cats together made his head hurt. But Fudge held fast. This wasn't just a bunch of cats being loud and annoying. Any information they might currently have could potentially be life threatening. Cats much older than him were heavily wounded, with even Angry's fur soaked in blood. If he had any hope of surviving, he needed to know what was going on. Make sure he made none of the mistakes these cats did. If they were as injured as they were, what was to stop whoever did this from killing him if it got the chance?
