Somehow, it had become routine. To quietly fulfill her duty as an enforcer of ShadowClan. And Lark spent her time now, patrolling every inch of ShadowClan Territory that she could think of, starting from camp and working outwards.

It was funny, how she'd become more shadow than reality in the last moon. Maybe depression spirals just hit hard, but Larkfire wasn't certain if that was it. She was grieving, more likely, but for someone who'd never learnt how to grieve, Larkfire had just fallen to silence.

She had Sagepaw, Flowerkit, and Mousepaw to look after. To be quite honest, Larkfire had figured that she needed to add Dawnstar to that list too. The hot-headed leader seemed to need a shoulder to rely on just as much as Larkfire did. She'd have to do something about that, but later. For now, Lark was content with not thinking about Darkfall or Daypaw or Dappledleaf or Howler or Prince or all the other cats who'd abandoned her.
