Or... not.
Bumblestar turned quite a few pawsteps away from the entrance to her den. She hadn't missed Mudhound's hurried escape, now she knew who the culprit is—but Mapleface and Stormpaw took her attention.
In response to Stormpaw [ @
Queen_Coral ], she shrugged.
"If you want to go with him, I won't stop you. Not gonna force cats to stay who don't want to."
Her gaze flickered to Mapleface [ @
Rose ] next, and for a moment she studied the queen before exhaling quietly and trying to reign in her irritation. This needed a more delicate approach, clearly, and she moved forward to stand close to the red and white she-cat.
"Look," she said quietly, trying to be as gentle with this as possible.
"I get the- the desire to try this, I do. But you need to understand that he can't see or hear. I'm not at all saying that in a bad way, it's just the facts. There's not much that can be done in terms of training. At best, he'll be stuck in camp all day unable to do much of anything; at worst, he's an easy target for predators or enemy warriors who might slip through our defenses. That's not to say we aren't capable of protecting him, but Twolegs have far better resources than we could ever hope to come up with. Some cats just aren't suited for the wild life, 'n Blazepaw just happens to be one of 'em."
She tossed a brief glance toward Mapleface's kits.
"Like I said. You're welcome to join Sharpclaw in delivering him. Just... be careful, yeah? I'm not expecting anything to happen, both of you are plenty capable, but you've got kits to come back to who don't need to know what growin' up without a mom is like."
