He didn't care tough, he enjoyed being a warrior, just as long as he didn't have to go on the dawn patrol every morning. He put on his normal cheerful smile as he reached the entrance of the den. He poked his brown head inside, his long nose inhaling the scents. He caught whiff of his new apprentice and smiled. He was truly excited for this, exhileration bubbled in his stomach. He called out into the darkness of the den. "Pricklepaw?"

Pricklepaw's head shot up at the call, his heart racing as if he'd just gone for a run in the forest instead of waking in his nest. It took several moments before the cobwebs of sleep cleared enough that he could gather his thoughts, and a heartbeat longer before he was clambering to his paws. His eyes had adjusted easily to the darkness but even so it was hard to pick out the dark shape looming at the entrance to the den. Instantly, recognition kicked in and he perked up. Shaking the last of his sleepiness away, he scampered out of the den and slid to a halt several tail-lengths into the clearing. Perhaps he'd gotten a little too excited, but it had been ages since he'd been out of camp and he was looking forward to it.

If I don't reply quickly, it's probably because I'm on mobile! My tablet's messed up so I can't get on here on the computer often.
