And then, next came some news that she hadn’t been expecting at all. As soon as she heard the words, ‘We’re proving them wrong tonight’, her fur nearly bristled in discomfort. Alas, she kept her composure. Perhaps Bumblestar’s plans wouldn’t go south, right? Although Drizzlecloud knew better than to think that, she still had some hope. Unfortunately placed hope, but hope nonetheless.

Bumblestar had called for Thunderclan to invade Riverclan’s territory in an attempt to steal a chunk of their land... Yet another battle would erupt from that, she presumed. Her jaw dropped, and she just sat there in silence, watching as Bumblestar headed out, followed by some of her clanmates who had already leaped up in agreement. This was all happening so fast, she didn’t have the chance to consult anyone at all. Then again, it wasn’t her choice. It was not her responsibility to make decisions for her clan, it was up to Bumblestar and Alderstep–speaking of it, she wondered if he even had a say in any of this at all. Would this be news to him, too?

With narrowed eyes, her gaze sifted through her clanmates in an attempt to find him. Maybe she hadn’t given herself enough time to do so, but she gave up either way with a frustrated huff.

This is ridiculous–absolutely ridiculous. She stood, lashing her tail behind her. But what am I to do? I must go. The blue-grey spotted tabby shook her head–frustrated–before she whirled around to face the opening of her den. It was Springpaw’s choice on whether or not she wished to come, but Drizzlecloud decided that she would go no matter how she felt about the whole thing. She disagreed, yes. Her mind told her to stay put, express that defiance–but she could not. Just because she disagreed with Bumblestar’s choice–and perhaps Alderstep, too, if he had any say in the matter–did not mean that she was going to make all of her clanmates pay for it. She would go–to help anyone who needed it.

Not wanting to lag too far behind, she stormed into her den, intending to grab a few things before she took her leave, too.
