Springpaw
long-furred, oriental-shaped, gray-and-orange calico molly with blue eyes; torn right ear
purrks: herbal knowledge - tier 2 | the collector | mind reader[all perm. active]

Springpaw’s heart was twisting unsettlingly in her chest, and the sight of Leafpaw helplessly staggering in front of her definitely wasn’t a good sign at all. The side effects of blood loss and fatigue was already beginning to settle in as which she didn’t hope for, and now Leafpaw was at the risk of passing out due to any potential blood loss at the passing second. With a fiery trace of adrenaline rushing through her system, she gingerly braced her tail along the injured molly’s back and carefully guided her over towards the nearest moss-bed, listening to her quiet ramblings. Springpaw was sworn that she felt her heart almost split into two just from her words alone. Leafpaw truly cared about her younger siblings a lot, and Springpaw could easily find herself respecting that. She loved her siblings to hell and back and she’d do anything to protect them in their willpower if that was going to be the case. Leafpaw was no different; she cared and loyally devoted herself to her siblings. “She’s resting up,” Springpaw explained, carefully setting the young molly onto a moss-bed. “You’ll be able to see her soon after you are finished getting all patched up, is that alright with you?”

The calico gently stroked a paw along the side of the young siamese, her lips formed into a grimace. Stars, this apprentice was in bad shape, especially her tail. Her nose was bound to scrunch up at the rather disheveled-looking limb looking far too loose from where it is espoused to be and looked like it couldn’t be healed properly. Hell, she was almost certain that she could see the bone from where she was. Swallowing down the lump in her throat, the calico’s attention drew up towards her mentor as she listened to her ask for some marigold and cobwebs for herself as well so that she could help aid with the healing process if necessary. Giving a firm nod, the young calico then drew her attention back down towards Leafpaw, gently brushing a paw along her side once more. “I’m gonna be right back, alright? Just going to get some supplies to help fix you up and then we are going to help you.”

Stars, hopefully she was right. She wasn’t certain if Leafpaw’s tail was going to have to stay or not, and judging from her mentor’s call, she wasn’t certain if Drizzlecloud knew either. Flashing an apologetic look back towards Leafpaw, the young calico flew off towards the herb storage and went towards the indented pits to grab the needed supplies. While she did so, she flashed her mentor a rather plantitive look. “I briefly looked over Leafpaw’s wounds, and I don’t think she’s going to be able to keep her tail on her I’m afraid. It looks like it’s about to fall out. Does… could that mean we would have to… amputate it?” The question slipping past her lips almost made the calico feel queasy. The thought about performing some surgical work onto her patients was something that she never suspected that she would have to do, but it was best if she learned it. If she wanted to become a medicine cat, then she was going to have to learn the gruesome ways of being a successful medicine cat for her clan.
