Ripplepelt's heart dropped as Larkstar came into camp, Falconfeather's body in tow. Death, for a medicine cat border crossing? she thought in disbelief. Still, she shouldn't be surprised. It wasn't like Dawnstar was known for her leniency. Falconfeather would have known that - it had been a foolish thing to do, and an even more foolish thing to die for.

Her thoughts drifted to poor Tansypaw. What a trio they made - Larkstar, Birdsong, and Tansypaw, all so young to be put in the positions they were in. It put RiverClan in a vulnerable position, especially during leaf-bare. Ripplepelt wasn't one for violence, but ThunderClan had provoked them, stealing Cattail Pond - perhaps it was time for a show of strength to keep the other clans at bay.

She left the grieving for cats who had known Falconfeather personally, settling back down. If tensions weren't so high, another clan's medicine cat might have given Tansypaw the help she needed, but as it was, she hoped StarClan would train her.
