Her voice made Violetfreckle's stomach drop.

She almost didn't want to leave the comfort of the warrior's den -- going out there would mean inevitably looking up and seeing her. But... it would be worse if she didn't, right? No, no. Violetfreckle had to squash down her stupid, wrong feelings sooner or later. With bile in her throat, the tabby she-cat walked out of the den and tucked herself near the back of the crowd, unable to look up from her paws.
