I won’t leave until your all better.’ and that was a promise, pepper didn’t want anymore guilt, and the scent of blood was sickening. He could tell that GoldFish was in pain.

(Don't worry abt it!)
Goldfish focused solely on the sound of her own breathing, and gingerly stretched out her front paws, trying to get a grip. Once she did, Goldfish slowly tried to stand up. Her hind leg wouldn't move at all- that was a lost cause. Maybe her other hind leg? those two had been in the dark, freezing water the longest. She slowly heaved herself closer to the blistering hot water. It stung her eyes, but she didn't mind. She felt her fur begin to dry, and warmth returning to her bones.
Her hind leg had two scrapes along the side of it- It hurt terribly now that the numbness was easing- and it was closing up around the edges. Tired, Goldfish fell asleep.
Fast forward half an hour later, Goldfish awoke, feeling very weak but a little birtbetter- not dry, but wet. Better than soaked. She stood slowly.
Pepper was quivering from the cold, but obviously tired. He snoozed like a freaking beast. Goldfish heaved herself beside him and pressed herself close to him, trying to ease his shivering.
Failing, Goldfish drew her numb tongue around his ears. Goldfish could feel his heart beating like a hare in a fit. She licked his fur the wrong ways down his flank next- a trick she learned once. It would move the water out of the way so he could warm up. She then felt him wake up, but by the time he did she was half-asleep already. When he woke up completely, she was fully asleep and began feeling stabbing pain from her shoulders. She hadn't noticed she'd sliced them. She knew that Pepper had cut himself- she'd found small scratches around his paws- he'd complain and be heard up to high Starclan when he woke up. Goldfish smiled despite her pain. This was something she wouldn't forget easily.
