Was it wrong to go along with his kit-like reality? Maybe. But she didn't want him to feel bad or embarrassed that it was just a stick.

A quick huff of air blew out from the large tom's muzzle as his son pointed towards the wet stick that Redhawk had trapped under their paw, and the surge of protective adrenaline that had coursed through his body slowly began to dissipate. Gently removing himself from the solid stance he held above the kit, Lioncrest deposited his son out of air jail and back next to his mother. Redhawk's rapid *thunks* to subdue the "stick snake" pulled a spark of amusement to his gaze as he observed the molly, but he elected not to intervene in her attempts to placate his son's mistake.
"At least we know his lungs work," he murmured to Dovefluff, voice rumbling low before returning his attention to Elkkit and adjusting his tone to be a bit more authoritative. "You did very well alerting us to a perceived danger Elkkit. However, to avoid snakes in the future, ask myself or your mother to accompany you outside the nursery."
If they had many repeats of such verbal calls to danger, he was certain his clanmates would grow tired of his kin and perhaps true danger would be disregarded as a false alarm. Now he'd have to see if he could get ahold of a snake to give his kits a thorough lesson on the dangerous creatures...

REDHAWK KILLED IT. "Stick" his TAIL, like this other kit was telling him. He was a WARRIOR, just like her! He stuck his tongue out at Mantiskit and leaned in to headbutt her, before waddling around to face Dad once set down with a massive grin on his face.
"GOOD JOB!" he shouted, echoing Redhawk's words to him, and puffed out his chest like the leader he so obviously deserved to be after this whole ordeal.
"SAVED!"
Zero volume control on this one, that's for sure. He started to waddle toward Redhawk, intent on attacking her legs to thank her.
