Ooh, someone was a little snippy today. His head tilted ever so slightly, giving Finchfluff a wide-eyed look… Not out of fear or anything, just minor surprise. The teeniest, weeniest of shock.
“It was small-talk, that’s all.” I’d imagine most of the patrols you’ve been on have been quiet, though–I wouldn’t want to talk to you, either. The comment was added on in his own head, after all, he didn’t really want to start anything–not that it would’ve been him starting it, as Finchfluff was the perpetrator here.
“Alright, alright, let him be an ass if he wants to be. C’mon, let’s hunt. This will just be our meet-up point.” He spoke in a quiet voice to Springpaw, but he raised his voice during that last sentence so Finchfluff would hear him. With a flick of his tail, he nodded elsewhere, signifying that Springpaw could go where she pleased. He would keep an eye on her, though. Keep close.
