sick and tired of all the cold, soggy snow and cold wind biting in his ears, he had decided to just watch the other cats in camp for now, the day was still young, so if the fresh kill pile looked too empty later he still had plenty of time to hunt. shuffling his still partically numb paws once in a while he just let the snow settle on his fur. maybe it was for the better he had taken to watching his clanmates go about their days, far too many had been acting up recently and he was not letting anyone starve this leafbare because grown ass warriors couldnt act their age.
caught up in his own thoughts he didnt notice the apprentice approaching, taken aback by the sudden touch his ears flatten against his skull momentarily and a hiss promptly gets stuck in his throat, causing him to start coughing. he quite honestly felt really dumb for almost hissing at a apprentice just trying to help but- well. there wasnt really a "but" in this situation.
"sorry i uh didnt expect you.. thank you" the tabby mewed stiffly, eyeing the apprentice out of the corner of his vision. they better watch it. maintaining the feathers in his short fur was enough of a pain already he didnt need them to be knocked out.
