A small break is what she needed from the clan, so she had taken it. The chaos that had been stirred up nearly every day was horrid. A fight here, a Traitor there. Hopefully the clan was settled now. Time to find some Chamomile to calm her thoughts... the dried white flowers were covered in a layer of snow, but she still managed to find some, it was just over a small lump in the snow of which she could only imagine was a stump from a twoleg cutting down a tree.

The pain didn't register at first, but when it did a pained shriek spilled out of her maw, scaring away any nearby prey, blood pooled around her body, her legs in no shape to do anything, part of her abdomen bloodied and spilling out of her. A trap. A stars damned foxtrap. This is where she would die. There is nothing she could do. She knew that.

Shellwhisker, frozen stiff with fear and shock, had witnessed the entire scene.

''No...'' The warrior let out a soft whisper, approaching Koiviolet's bloody body. ''No..''

This couldn't be happening. It just couldn't.

First Tansypaw.

Then Larkstar.

Now Koiviolet.

Crouching down beside her Clanmate's body, Shellwhisker ran a paw gently along Koiviolet's side.

''You can't leave us. We need you!'' The she-cat felt her eyes begin to water.

''J-Just hold on, Koiviolet. I'll fetch help!''

Deep down, Shellwhisker knew that there was nothing she could do. If she left, Koiviolet would be dead by the time she returned.

Realizing this, Shellwhisker didn't move. Instead, she stayed by Koiviolet's side and pressed her muzzle in her Clanmate's neck fur.

After a few moments, Shellwhisker noticed the fox trap. The RiverClan warrior began to dig, loosening the shiny stem from the ground bit by bit.

Once the stem was free, the wire around Koiviolet's neck loosened, and Shellwhisker gently tore it free from around her Clanmate's bloody neck.
