She listened for the lies from Hawkpaw... but they... never came. Her sister's voice never waivered. "Why aren't you lying... why..." She let out a shaky sigh. "I can't stay mad, Hawkpaw, I'm sorry. But for right now, you're not my sister. You're just a fellow apprentice. That's it."

She was just about to leave, but her cousin, Sleepysunrise came to the two cats. "She was my aunt just as much as she was your mother, Sleepysunrise." Rambling on about Duskpaw being missing... "I've been here. Just... lurking. Watching. I cried before because I grew the hell up. I'm not 'Dusky' or Duskkit anymore."

Then came Rookfire. Great. Just great. "I'm not screaming nor am I crying. I'm talking, arguing, to a fellow apprentice who left me alone when I needed her about what she did, but I'm not yelling. Have you ever been left alone when you needed someone, Rookfire?" She wanted to add; If you had, I'm sure you'd understand. But you probably haven't. But that would be a one-way ticket to demotion and she did not want to be stuck in the Nursery.
