Tigerpelt grinned as he saw Spiderkit's excited eyes. "You don't need to be brave little one, it is okay to be scared, or upset at things," the warrior says. He paused a moment then says, "I bet you will be a very amazing apprentice, even a great warrior someday. I'm glad a kit like you is so eager to help the clan. Most kits don't even think about their apprenticeship until their ceremony arrives," he purrs. He was proud of Spiderkit for being this encourage to be a great warrior one day.

Spiderkit tilted her head, confused. What did this warrior mean? “B-But…aren’t apprentices supposed to be brave and strong?” She squeaked. Surely a warrior was wiser than her, but she was still confused by the concept of an apprentice that feels fear. But she puffed out her chest when Tigerpelt continued, proud to have earned a warrior’s praise. “Th-Thank you!” She purred. “I need to be strong and brave enough to help big brother Antpaw too! And mamma, and papa, and Lightkit!” She opened her mouth to say more, but closed it slowly. She didn’t want to talk about the siblings she had lost, Foxkit and Mothkit, and what she owed them too. “I have to work hard and face my fears!” She mewed, strong resolution emanating from her little body. That sounded like something Hawkthorn would say, though she wasn’t sure if he had actually said it or not.
