Today was not a good day for Stonepaw. She didn't want to treat any day like it was completely bad, but really, she wasn't having the best time.
The gray apprentice was curled up in her nest, head sort of tilted over as she stared outside. She was tired. Sleeping had just made her feel worse, somehow. Wasn't sleep supposed to help with that? Something must be wrong with how Stonepaw was doing it, she thought to herself bitterly. But even her bitterness was more like bittersweet. Stonepaw wasn't good at being mad.
Quite the commotion was happening a few nests over. Her eyes followed the sound, landing on... Salamanderpaw? She must be cleaning her nest. A bit more meticulously than how Stonepaw usually did it... and Stonepaw's nest didn't have little stones around it. It was cute, in her opinion. But she was already Stonepaw. Stonepaw didn't need more stones.
She silently watched Salamanderpaw leave the den with her old bedding, and soon come back in. Hearing the other apprentice pride herself made Stonepaw huff with amusement. Not cruelly, she just thought the boldness of the statement was funny.
"Good job," she congratulated Salamanderpaw, slightly giggling to herself. The lack of proper rest made Stonepaw feel a bit loopy- she wasn't quite thinking as she usually did.
