"Ya got the motivation a comin' back fer yer clan, eh? But what can ya do fer Riverclan? I'm assumin' everythin' ya learned durin' apprenticeship didn't just leave ya." Then again, Two-legs did weird things with cats all the time. Who knows what could've happened.

"Five nights..." He answered promptly,
"...from what I could count." Sometimes the twolegs would cover the view to the outside world, but he could still see the light through the gaps. Regardless, he didn't want to say something he couldn't be truthful about, even if he had no control over it. Songwave had never been face to face with a leader before, and he wasn't sure if she wanted him to speak more or not. He might have already wasted his opportunity to explain himself... but he wouldn't know until their talk was over.
At her next question, he hesitated in confusion. Not because he doubted his abilities, but because he doubted the question entirely.
"I wouldn't have returned, had I not wanted to." The tom replied, blue eyes flicking to the side in thought.
'Did I word that correctly?' He wondered, mind beginning to swirl inside his head. Songwave gazed back up at the leader, his emotions subtly making their way onto his face with his now furrowed brows. He took a breath to settle his mind.
"I'll do what I've always done for Riverclan, by being the warrior which makes this clan." He said simply. This meant; to perform his task and uphold his role which had earned him his warrior name. The tom never went above and beyond, but he always made sure to fulfil it like every other warrior before his kidnapping.
"But, I... There is a special part of Riverclan, that gave me the strength, and motivation, to return..." Songwave wasn't sure if she'd understand, or if he should continue. Being with Almondchatter, it really was no secret who his mate was, but Owlstar might be unaware of their kits. He couldn't blame her, being a leader was busy work, which was the exact reason he had never interacted with the previous one. He was hoping he was doing this right, so he could see them all again.
