The scent of outsider filled her nostrils, causing the leader to naturally tense. However, the voice of Berryshine reeled her in, and Owlstar sheathed her claws back into matted fur. Cherryswirl? Certainly a name that hadn't hit her ears in a long while. Owlstar lifted herself up from her nest, fur plumed out against the cold. "C'mon in."

Berryshine breathed a sigh of relief; she had hoped she'd been able to say her piece before the leader would've gotten too alarmed by the smell of outsider. Giving Cherryswirl an encouraging glance, the medicine cat led the way and flicked her tail for the warrior to follow her. She ducked in past the lichen, ears twitching as some of it strayed on her pelt until she got further in.

The small-framed she-cat settled herself several paces in front of her leader, dipping her head in warm greeting. She left room for Cherryswirl to sit beside her; she wanted it to be less like an interrogation, even though it would likely be that, in a sense. Owlstar definitely had to do an assessment of the senior warrior before simply allowing her back in, but she knew her leader would be fair.


"S-She's got quite the story of what she's been through," Berryshine added quietly, curling her skinny tail over her paws; she figured the warrior could tell her own tale. A flash of sympathy was in her eyes. "I-It's a miracle that she had gotten back safely."
