Another day in paradise. The clearing was as busy as ever with the warmer, sunny weather. The taste of fresh-kill was still fresh on his tongue as Flintclaw groomed one of his large paws, laying in a patch of grass, enjoying the spot he had found to sunbathe. His morning checklist for the day was complete. He had finished the morning patrol, caught a rabbit and a vole, and eaten his share.
With nothing to do until long after sunhigh, he planned to spend his time relaxing and thinking. Well, maybe thinking was not the best thing for him to do. Whenever he sat and thought to himself, he would always wonder what his father would do. Then he would wonder why they couldn't have found the cure to the plague before his father died of it. Then he would wonder why he didn't join the group and make sure it got back sooner...
He almost cut his tongue as he clenched his paw, unsheathing his claws. Ah, maybe he shouldn't be thinking about anything at all.
