The massive tabby thought for a moment. How should he dumb this explanation down for a kit to understand? She often runs around to do her own little "patrols" around camp. He would have to start with that. This would, perhaps, be a good test of his teaching skills since he had just been assigned Dizzypaw.

"Think of walkin' along the edges of the camp, except hundreds times bigger. Our camp is only a small fraction of Thunderclan's territory," He drawled, voice not much more than a low rumble. "The border patrols are vital in keeping the clan safe. They have three major priorities; Reset our scent markers, report any strange or dangerous happenin's to Bumblestar, and challenge any who dare to cross onto our land." He paused.

"To lead a border patrol is to follow the warrior code, protect your clan and the cats of your patrol, and understand what your leader expects of you. It's important to think quickly, because you gotta to know what course of action to take when things go south... and the border patrol is the second most likely type of patrol to go south real quick." He wondered if he did explain it in a way for a kit to understand. Mind, this traitor's child wasn't some newborn. She was almost apprentice age. If this explanation confused her... well, Flintclaw couldn't really think of a better way to break it down.
